We
believe that every student has a unique combination of needs.
Goals, schedule, price and other factors may enter into your
decision to begin SCUBA training. Consequently, we have always
provided the most flexible options possible. The following
are the different alternatives that you can select in order
to tailor your program to your specific needs:

Our
Discover SCUBA session
We
all step into new experiences differently, so the Discover
SCUBA Session is designed to give you a free opportunity to
see what diving really feels like. You will see how easy and
natural diving can be, and you'll have that first taste of
adventure - at no cost to you.
Here's
what you can expect:
- Four
hours total instruction;
- All
equipment you need will be provided;
- Two
hours of classroom familiarization with dive training, the
equipment and basic safety concepts;.
- Two
hours of diving at the Anne Arundel Swim Center pool, which
will include:
- Selection
and fitting of equipment - all of which is provided
to you;
- Assembling
your equipment, including your Buouyancy Compensator,
regulator and tank;
- Working
with a buddy, to include donning and checking equipment;
- Diving
in shallow water, to include:
- Simple
seated entry into the pool;
- Buouyancy
system management;
- Use
of the regulator, including breathing underwater,
removing and purging the regulator;
- Clearing
water from a leaky mask
- Swimming
underwater with scuba.- what you came for!
- Proper
exit from the water;
- Disassembling
and caring for equipment;
- All
of the above is conducted under close supervision of a highly
qualified and experienced dive instructor.
- The
skills you will learn are directly applicable to the Open
Water certification program.
What
you'll need to bring:
- Yourself,
a bathing suit and a towel. Changing facilities and showers
are available at the pool.

| The
basic Open Water Course begins once each month and involves
a maximum of five Confined Water dives (at Arundel Swim Center),
and two Open Water trips to Millbrook Quarry (five dives). While
the Basic Package is the most cost effective, it is also the
least flexible. This option is most applicable to individuals
who can conform to a fixed schedule and desire a basic price
for the course. The package includes: |

| The
"FLEX" Open Water Course begins on a date selected
by the student and involves a maximum of seven Confined Water
dives (at Arundel Swim Center), and two Open Water trips to
Millbrook Quarry (five dives). The student has the flexibility
to attend pool sessions at any time during a 90 day period (i.e.,
the course material and in-water skills must be completed during
this time.) This option includes two additional pool sessions
to be used by the student for extra skill refinement. The two
Open Water dives at Millbrook Quarry may be scheduled on any
Saturday when quarry dives are scheduled. The package includes:

who are confident in their interest in SCUBA and who wish to
complete both the Open Water Course and the EANx (NITROX) course
at the same time. This package involves extra class materials
and lectures, as well as two Open Water dives using Nitrox.
All other benefits of the "FLEX" package apply. |

trip (student's choice) for the quarry dives. Participating
in a trip in conjunction with the course offers year-round training
with the same instructors and the benefit of completing Open
Water dives in the ocean instead of the quarry. Schedule for
training may be adjusted to coincide with trip schedule. |

| The
"Executive" package is designed for those individuals
with tight schedules and very limited time to complete a course.
Based on the executive's schedule, this course can be completed
in one week (assuming all skill development is satisfactory).
The program requires attendance at four pool sessions and two
quarry trips (or two open water ocean dives if combined with
a shop scheduled trip). The student is guaranteed one on one
instruction throughout all in-water instruction and classroom
instruction (unless a scheduled class is available). THIS IS
A CUSTOMIZED PACKAGE DESIGNED TO FIT THE STUDENT'S SPECIFIC
NEEDS. |
